For the 7-7.30 pm news segment, for instance, ETV Bangla held a near 60% channel share, followed by Zee Bangla with 14.3%, Askaash Bangla 13.3% and DD7 Bangla 9.5%.įor the late night 10.30-11 pm news bulletin, ETV Bangla���s lead drops to 43%, while Aakaash Bangla goes up to 24%, Zee Bangla, too, up to 16% and STAR Ananda at the 4th spot with 6.6%. It is, therefore, ironic that ETV Bangla, from the Hyderabad-based ���Eenadu��� stable, is ahead by far in the Bengali-speaking market. However, this data hides the fact that in ���educated��� states like Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, TV audiences continue to rely on regional entertainment channels for their diet of news bulletins. ![]()
